If you live in the United Kingdom, then it's a short, ideal trip to go to Disneyland Paris with the kids just before Christmas or at any time of the year. They get to meet Mickey Mouse and all the Disney characters they want in France. It's an entertaining break for the whole family and it's always exciting during Christmas time. We booked our break to Disneyland Paris with Magic Breaks.

Disneyland Paris is a smaller version than the one in Orlando in Florida, but it's great too because you are in Paris where you can visit all those other places in France that you're hoping to see. The city of Paris is a 50-minute ride on a train from Disneyland so there's no excuse to visit there for a day.

The Rides

The rides are exciting. There is the Star Tours ride, which is set as the spaceship in Star Wars the film and it gives the effect of a simulator ride.

There is the Pirates of the Caribbean, which is a boat ride through a pirates world. There is also It's a Small World ride in Disneyland Paris that has now been taken away in Orlando's Disneyworld theme park. A great ride for the little ones too.

Best of all was the 3D Honey I Shrunk the Audience ride which we went on a few years ago when we visited Disneyland Paris in January time. It was an animation that gives the illusion that the audience has been shrunk. This for me was the best of all the rides but it was no longer there when we visited in November 2019.

There is now a Toy Story ride which was an awesome experience for the kids.

The Tower of Terror ride was exciting too and this is a ride just for the adults as it can be scary for youngsters when the lift rises to the top pretty quickly and down again in a flash.

The Shows

The shows are something not to be missed either. There was the Mickey Mouse show which was probably the best of them all. We also paid extra to see Buffalo Bill's Wild West Dinner Show which was full of joy and fun for everyone. Mickey Mouse and friends were there too.

We were given cowboy hats as we arrived and we got to keep them and bring them home.

The meal was plentiful and tasty and the beer was flowing. Great fun for families. (watch the video below).

Christmas Time in Disneyland Paris

The Christmas Tree at Euro Disney is the best spot for all your photographs. You can take pictures of all the family, whilst standing under this magnificent tree.

Traveling to Disneyland Paris

From the UK, you can either travel by car and boat or fly, but we took the Eurostar train straight into Disneyland Paris, which was brilliant. The Trip from Waterloo in London takes two hours or you can travel from Ashford in Kent, which takes three hours. It's a unique service that is now in operation and it goes to many other European countries too.

Hotels

The hotels in the resort are an ideal spot for your accommodation. We stayed in The Cheyenne a few years back, which was excellent. The rooms have a double bed and bunk beds for the kids, a tv and a bathroom.

Last November 2019 we stayed in Sante Fe hotel which was themed as the movie of Cars. Two double beds in the room with ensuite bathroom. It was a great hotel. Every morning you could meet the characters like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Snoopy and more in the reception area. My grandkids loved it!

Half Board Meals

A new thing that Magic Breaks have incorporated in their breaks to Disneyland Paris is meal plans. You get a chance now to have half or full board in your hotel. You can use this to eat anywhere in the parks. Breakfast is usually at your hotel unless you have a Character breakfast.

Transport

There are buses to take you into the resort, but it's also a short walk which we took advantage of at times. We went in January a few years back and in December another time, and it was cold so we took the bus. This time, we went in November (just before Christmas) and every day we got the shuttle bus which was quick and easy to do as it's right outside the hotel. Every Disney hotel in the resort has shuttle buses including the Cheyenne.

It can be rather expensive for a short trip but it's worth a visit even with the younger children who will appreciate it too.

I can say we were all very pleased with our trip to Disneyland Paris. It was fabulous for us this time around because we went there with my son and his wife and our grandkids. We enjoyed every minute of it. Going for a Christmas break in December was exciting for us all. The kids were excited to see Santa too! Christmas is a perfect time to take a trip to Disneyland Paris.
