Orlando

A vacation at Disney World, Orlando is a must for all families. There are various activities, rides and 4D shows to experience whilst there for all ages, including adults. I have been here three times already with my family and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Book into a hotel or holiday Inn or better still, rent a villa with a pool. There are many places to choose from. Search on the internet for the most suitable place before setting off and book it.

Disney World

The best time to go to Disney World is in January, February, March or December. The weather is cooler and the cues are much smaller. Although, there is a fast pass system for some rides. I went in August and it rained every single day, so don't go at this time. My best time in Orlando was visiting in June time. It was hot but it hardly rained.

There are four theme parks in Disney World. There is Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom.
The Magic Kingdom was the first of these theme parks to open in 1971. With it's Main Street USA, it is split up into several themed areas. There are parades here at certain times of the day and characters walking around, such as Mickey Mouse, for anyone to catch their autograph or a photograph with them. Also, make time to see one of the shows that are uniquely spectacular for every family.

Theme Parks

Epcot is another area to explore with its orb of Spaceship Earth. The future world area is a collection of family-friendly thrills like launching the simulator mission such as Space and the flying simulator. Shows can be seen here too, which are shown several times a day.

Disney Hollywood Studios opened in 1989. It's most popular ride the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a fantastic ride that should not be missed. Shows, such as The Little Mermaid and The Beauty and The Beast can be seen here too.

The Animal Kingdom was added in 1998 with its 500 acres of fun. There is the safari excursion that takes 20 minutes, which is fun seeing the animals. Shows, such as Finding Nemo are performed here too.

If there is time, there are the other three parks that can be visited, which are not in the vicinity of Disney World. These are Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Sea World.

Universal Studios is famous for showing 3D and 4D movie shows, such as, Terminator, Shrek, Men In Black ride and apparently, they had a  Simpson's ride which was popular. There is now the Harry Potter rides to enjoy. This is a popular place to visit and it should not be missed if you take a trip to Orlando.

Islands of Adventure is another themed park that is full of fun. It has five themed areas. Jurassic Park, Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Lost Continent and Seuss Landing. Jurassic Park has the river adventure ride, which is great in the summer season. The Spider-Man 3D adventure ride takes place in Marvel Super Hero Island. Shops selling superhero toys can be found here too.

Sea World

Sea World is full of fun too. Swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove or go and see Shamu Rocks, which is on several times a day, the killer whale show. There are, also, dolphin shows here too.

Having Fun

There is so much to choose from when visiting Orlando. A couple to three days in each park is really needed, but if there isn't the time, then spread it out. It would be a waste to miss out on other parks. Also, visit the water parks. There are a few to choose from.

Driving to Orlando is a bonus if you live in the USA and if you are planning to visit further afield, such as the Kennedy Space Center or a wildlife park where you can take a ride in a boat to see alligators.
Of course, transport in and around Disney World is provided from every hotel to all Disney World Theme Parks. We hired a car as it's easy to drive around in Orlando.

Take an Orlando Vacation

I recommend this type of vacation because it will suit all the family and you will have lots of fun no matter what you do. If you want a long vacation such as a three-week one then it will give you more time in each park.
There are other areas to visit in Florida too. We visited Cocoa beach which was just a 30-minute drive from Orlando. We also drove to Miami and stayed there in a cheap hotel for one night. The driving did us around three hours but we enjoyed it.
